About Dawn Wentzell

I began creating websites when I was a teenager. I taught myself HTML and CSS, and built my own websites as hobby. I continued to build my design and development skills throughout university, although I majored in Natural Resource Management. After the completion of my degree, I decided to attend college for an intensive web design certificate program, to enhance my abilities.

I completed my education in May 2004, and a month later was hired as a junior designer by RKD Web Studios, in Guelph, Ontario. I have been there for over four years now, and am now one of the senior designers. I am now also Director of Internet Marketing (read: do-er of all internet marketing) for RKD's child company, Zero In. Throughout my career, I have become knowledgable in usability, accessibility, and search engine optimization, and have developed my skills in these areas to compliment my design abilities. I love building sites with semantic and valid XHTML, and am known around the office as the CSS guru.

As designing and building websites is still my hobby, I sometimes take on a select few freelance and pro bono clients.

Aside from web design, I also enjoy cooking, reading and photography. I have a love for animals, and currently have a rabbit named Chase and a cat named Pixel.
